 COME

Come about (happen, ঘটে) : I have no idea how it came about. Come across (meet by chance, হঠাৎ দেখা পাওয়া) : Yesterday I came across an old friend. Come down (fall, নেমে আসা) : The price of rice will come down soon. Come out (be known, প্রকাশ পাওয়া) : His new book will come out next week. Come of (জন্মগ্রহণ করা) : He comes of a noble family. Come round (recover, আরোগ্য লাভ করা) : The patient will come round soon. Come off (take place, অনুষ্ঠিত হওয়া) : The convocation came off smoothly.

★ CARRY Carry about (take along, নিয়ে যাওয়া) : He carried about a pistol wherever he went. Carry on (manage, চালিয়ে যাওয়া) : I will carry on the work in your absence. Carry out (obey, মান্য করা) : He wants to carry out the wishes of his parents. Carry away (remove, হরণ করে নেয়া) : The wounded man was carried away to the hospital. *Carry off (cause death, মৃত্যু ঘটানো) : The Corona pandemic carries off millions of people. Carry through (perform, সম্পাদন করা) : Though she was etremely tired, she carried through to the finish.

★ CUT Cut out (omit, বাদ দেয়া) : Let's cut out unimportant details. Cut down (cause to fall by cutting/reduce, কেটে ফেলা/কমানো) : The farmer cut down the tree with an axe. Cut off (separated/die, বিচ্ছিন্ন/মারা যাওয়া) : We should never cut off relationship with our friends. Cut up (distress/be upset/grieve, মর্মাহত করা) : His wife's death has cut him up terribly.

★ CRY Cry down (decry, নিন্দা করা) : Do not cry down your enemy. Cry to (beg, ভিক্ষা করা) : The beggars cried to the Zamindar for food.

★ DIE Die of (রোগে, ক্ষুধা, দুঃখে, রোগে মারা যাওয়া) : The orphan boy died of cholera. Die by (আঘাতে, আত্মহত্যা, নিহত হওয়া মারা যাওয়া) : He died by cholera. Die from (অতিরিক্ত খেয়ে, বিষক্রিয়ায় মারা যাওয়া) : The man died from overeating. Die for (দেশের জন্য, দেশের জন্য মারা যাওয়া) : He died for his country.

★ DO Do away with (abolish/to get rid of, বাতিল করা/মুক্তি পাওয়া) : We should do away with that rule. Do up (fatigued, শ্রান্ত) : I am quite done up with the journey. Do without (manage without, কোন কিছু ছাড়া চলা) : He can't do without the help of his assistant.

★ DRAW Draw away (আকর্ষণ করে নেয়া) : My attention was drawn away by the noise. Draw back (recede, পশ্চাতে সরে যাওয়া) : I can't draw back from my promise. Draw on (নিকটবর্তী হওয়া) : The Eid festival is drawing on. Draw out (withdraw from, বার করে নেয়া/প্রসারিত করা) : Draw out the aching tooth. I cannot draw out of the contract now.

★ FALL Fall on (attack, আক্রমণ করা) : The robbers fell on the passer-by. Fall from (come out, টের পাওয়া) : Not a word fell from his lips. Fall out (quarrel, ঝগড়া করা) : Ruby and her husband fell out over the education of their children. Fall through (fail, ব্যর্থ হওয়া) : The project fell through for want of funds.
